MISSION

The mission of the Greenbelt Land Trust is to conserve and protect in perpetuity native habitats, working lands and lands of natural beauty, which provide a connection to the natural world for the residents of the Mid-Willamette Valley.

OUR GOALS

The Greenbelt Land Trust has established five core program goals. Effort and resources are allocated across these five goals in accordance with Strategic and Conservation Plans, both of which are updated regularly. The five goals are:

  • Land Protection
By working closely with landowners, our members, and our partners—and utilizing the full array of land conservation tools—Greenbelt Land Trust seeks to protect the highest priority lands in our region.
  • Stewardship
By maintaining an active stewardship program for all protected properties in conjunction with landowners, partners and volunteers, Greenbelt Land Trust ensures the permanent conservation of these properties.
  • Outreach and Education
By helping create a community of people in the Mid Willamette Valley who value and support land conservation, Greenbelt Land Trust promotes protection of open space and natural areas, fish and wildlife resources, recreational trail networks, and appreciation for the natural world.
  • Organizational Capacity
By supporting an effective Board of Directors and professional staff, and actively encouraging membership and volunteerism, Greenbelt Land Trust secures the resources to meet its operational and financial needs on a sustainable basis.

These five goals drive all our activities.
