Evening walk at Bald Hill Farm

In collaboration with the 2011 Natural Areas Week, join us for an early evening walk at beautiful Bald Hill Farm. Staff will lead a tour of the Farm, discussing area ecology, agriculture management, and GLT’s habitat restoration vision for the property.

Nature Writing Workshop with Charles Goodrich @ Bald Hill Farm

Take the inspiration and creativity that you receive from being in nature, and put pen to paper! Join Greenbelt and Charles Goodrich, Director of Oregon State University’s Spring Creek Project, for this much-anticipated writing workshop. With the beautiful early-summer landscape of Bald Hill Farm as a backdrop, we will walk portions of the property, with writing and reflection stopping points led by Mr. Goodrich. We will end the day with an open reading and response session. Submissions of poetry and prose from this workshop are appreciated for an anthology of Bald Hill Farm writings.

Landscape Painting Workshop with Kris Mitchell @ Bald Hill Farm

Let the creativity flow! Led by area artist and teacher Kris Mitchell, this will be a focused workshop on landscape techniques and styles. Whether you are a seasoned painter, or new to the world of art – all are welcome! Following the ‘paint-out’ we will convene for critiques and sharing.
Space for this FREE event is limited to 25 people, so reserve your spot now – email jessica@greenbeltlandtrust.org to RSVP (Bring own art supplies). Donated submissions of completed art from this workshop are appreciated to be included in a summer art auction fundraiser for Bald Hill Farm.

Digital Landscape Photography Workshop with Kurt Norlin @ Bald Hill Farm - CLASS FULL

Now that you have a digital camera, how do you best use it? Join Albany landscape photographer Kurt Norlin for this workshop dedicated to landscape photography. With Bald Hill Farm as a backdrop, learn how to manipulate your camera to create the perfect image you are looking for. The group will convene to review and critique photographs.

Historian Tour of Bald Hill Farm with Mary Gallagher

Did you know that Bald Hill Farm is the site of the 2nd western settler to the Corvallis area, Johnson Mulkey? Come and learn more about the fascinating history of this property, from Native American influences, through western settler migration. This tour will be led by the acclaimed local historian, Mary Gallagher.

An evening with Joel Salatin- Tickets on sale NOW!

Joel Salatin, one of the most acclaimed alternative farmers in the United States, will be joining us for this landmark presentation on the future of sustainable farming and local food production in the Willamette Valley. GLT is partnering with Afton Field Farm to host Joel over the weekend. Please see Afton Field Farm’s website for their tour information and registration.
