Greenbelt Land Trust Annual Meeting

6.30-8pm: Keynote speaker Charles Goodrich,
nature writer and Director of the Spring Creek Project, talk entitled "Bugs, Birds, Seeds, and Other People: Everybody Pulls Together."

We have so much to update you on at our 2012 annual meeting! The evening will include a presentation by poet Charles Goodrich, with a keynote talk entitled "Bugs, Birds, Seeds, and Other People: Everybody Pulls Together". GLT will be announcing volunteer and supporter of the year awards, and sharing our accomplishments and future projects with all of you. Whether you are interested in getting an update on Bald Hill Farm, our work along the Willamette, or how we are engaging the communicty with conservation through outreach and education, join us! Food and refreshments from Gathering Together Farms provided. 1st Presbyterian Church, New Wing.

Living with Nature Lecture Series - “Hummingbird Highways: The impact of landscape fragmentation on tropical plant population.”
Corvallis Library Main Meeting Room

Come down to the Corvallis Public Library - Main Meeting Room for the next installment of our Living With Nature Lecture Series! Presenter Matthew Betts (OSU) will be sharing his fascinating research on how tracked tropical hummingbirds are effected by landscape fragmentation and how the disturbance of these landscapes may shed light on pollination problems that are plaguing plants around the world.

Magnificent condors are making their way back from the brink of extinction. Come and learn about these amazing creatures and about Oregon species recovery programs for condors and other endangered wildlife from David Shepherdson, Deputy Conservation Division Manager of the Oregon Zoo.

“Help the Prairie Flowers”

Help us mulch these recently planted prairie flowers and help them survive weeds and summer drought.  Meet at the GLT office to carpool to the site.  RSVP to jeff@greenbeltlandtrust.org.

Volunteer Orientation & Workshop

Whether you are interested in planting trees, leading field tours, assisting with events, or monitoring plants and wildlife...there are opportunities to get involved with Greenbelt Land Trust. Long-term volunteers and those interested in getting involved...join us for this annual Volunteer Orientation and Training event at the GLT Office to learn more about the organization and the important contribution volunteers provide to the Trust.

Living with Nature Lecture Series - “History & Ecology of the Willamette River.” Corvallis Library Main Meeting Room

The Willamette River has a complex history, weaving together a myriad of relationships from the communities who drink its water to the fish and birds that seek refuge among its eddies and floodplain forests. Come learn about the history and future of the river from renowned stream ecologist and co-author of the Willamette Basin Planning Atlas, Stan Gregory (OSU Professor of Fisheries and Wildlife)

3rd Annual Natural Resources Celebration Week

Natural Resources Celebration Week highlights the bountiful open spaces, recreation areas, and environmental communities that make the mid-Valley so incredible. Keep an eye out for the NACW’s calendar of activities – from birding tours to forest hikes, there is bound to be something for everyone!

Tree Identification Tour,
Bald Hill Farm, Corvallis

Know your trees? Join GLT and Dr. Ed Jensen, author of “Trees to Know in Oregon” and Associate Dean at OSU College of Forestry for a leisurely walk at Bald Hill Farm, identifying and discussing trees and shrubs native to Oregon. Group will be leaving from GLT office. Space will be limited to 25 participants – RSVP to jessica@greenbeltlandtrust.org.

Lupine Meadows Open House, Philomath

Our annual Lupine Meadows Tour is a great time for people to visit this sensitive property and view the beautiful Fender’s blue butterfly in flight and learn about upland prairie plants and how we are working to restore this special place. Meet at GLT Office to carpool to site.

6th Annual Run for the Hills,
Bald Hill Natural Area, Corvallis

Join us at Bald Hill Natural Area for this annual trail run with proceeds benefiting Greenbelt Land Trust and the City of Corvallis’ trail programs. Choose and 8k, 2 mile or a ¼ mile kids run!
